About

The Erawan Tea Room at the Grand Hyatt Erawan delivers an afternoon tea set that holds its own on flavor as well as presentation — something not all high teas manage. Elegant surroundings suit a long, unhurried afternoon, though service can run slow during busy periods.

Afternoon tea set delicious but don't go there with an empty stomach as it will not fill you up. Not sure why but the service is extremely slow.

Although it is presented as a classic British afternoon tea, all the sweet and savory treats and pastries incorporate deeply traditional Thai elements and flavors. It is highly recommended and stands out as much more than a mere imitation of the typical afternoon tea offering. Thai fusion in afternoon tea refers to a creative culinary style that combines the classic structure and etiquette of traditional British/English afternoon tea with authentic Thai ingredients, flavors, herbs, spices, and dessert traditions. Instead of simply copying the standard scones-jam-clotted cream + cucumber sandwiches + petit fours formula, chefs infuse Thai elements into both the savory and sweet tiers, creating something unique and locally rooted—especially popular in places like Bangkok.

Come for the tourist vibe and Instagram worthy food. Unabashed tourist trap Thai milk tea superb- drink early or stay awake al night Pomelo salad great (soft shell crab cold and flavour less) Very competent mango sticky rice Tofu was good crunchy & soft Was asked if I had a reservation in an almost empty restaurant and the staffs attitude was surprisingly glacial for Thailand

Overall, somewhat disappointing and pricey experience. Because of mix of dining and high tea patrons, those there specifically to experience the high tea did not receive the traditional high tea courtesies such as someone explaining each served delicacy or how it fit in with the tradition of Thailand's high tea customs. Additionally no one refreshed our tea the entire time until someone came to take away items on the table towards the very end. Very disappointed. The food was notably good and my allergies were accommodated although I had to remind them of what they were despite including them in the reservation. I am mixed about recommending to others if you are seeking a true Thai high tea experience.
