GRISBI wine bar & restaurant

Food was good, but the service experience was terrible. Ordered a steak dinner. Appetizer dishes were left on the table for 15 minutes while various Servers walked past many times and did nothing. Often there were 3-4 Servers shouting between themselves and the Bartender beside my table which killed trying to enjoy a quiet meal. When the steak board arrived, I had to lift the dirty dishes to make room. The Server (tattooed Lady) puts down the board and takes off, leaving me holding the dishes with no where to put them. Gave me a good laugh anyway. 😁 Steak was decently prepared, served on a bed of brown grass or hay which was a bit odd. Side dish of gratinee was quite oily and salty. Same experience when I finished my meal. Dirty dishes sat for 20 minutes, nobody came by to offer another drink, seemed to be forgotten about. Waited another 10 minutes and asked for the bill. Another 10 minutes goes by and I see the person I asked for the bill, clearing dirty dishes and re-setting a table. So got up and stood by the payment register. Manager came over and told her to take my payment, but she goes back to setting the table. By now there are 2 sets of customers behind me, also waiting to pay. When she finally comes to take my payment, the machine runs out of paper, and she can't find refills. What a gong show, and not even an apology. It's unfortunate I have to pay a 10% service charge with such terrible service. But I definitely won't be back here again.

Food Poisoning After a Simple Fried Rice — Avoid Grisbi, Sukhumvit 20 Last night I walked into Grisbi because the place looked fancy from outside and it was right across my hotel. I wanted something simple and quick to start with, so I ordered chicken fried rice (Khao Pad Kai). Even though the restaurant was not busy (only a couple of tables occupied) and there were staff around, I wasn’t attended to until I called someone. After ordering, the food arrived in about 20 minutes (which is fine), but the portion was very small. The taste was disappointing from the very first bite. On the table there was no salt/pepper. I had to request it, and only then it was brought. The billing experience made it worse. My bill shows: KHAO PAD KAI: 300 THB GRISBI WATER: 60 THB (added on the bill) Service charge 10%: 36 THB VAT 7%: 25.20 THB Net total: 421.20 THB Time printed: 07/02/2026 23:00 (Table T7) For a basic chicken fried rice + water, the final amount felt excessive to me. Paying also took another ~10 minutes, and the interaction felt rude/unwelcoming overall. Most importantly, about 12 hours later, I experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning and I’m currently recovering. I can’t prove the exact source, but the timing after this meal was concerning. I travel to Thailand often and eat everywhere, from street food to fine dining, and this was one of my worst experiences. Based on my visit, I do not recommend this place.

Looking for a new steakhouse I discovered this one via Google Maps. Saturday they have 50% promotion for some of their steaks. You can choose a sauce and a side dish. And they even had happy hour, so I enjoyed a glass of red wine (unclear what I was having, "something from Chile" was the answer, but it was delicious). I was early, the only guest. But I was placed at a table next to the cashier where the staff had loud and lively discussions, it was not really pleasant. At first sight it's an elegant place, nicely decorated, slow jazzy music, all fine. Then the steak arrived, looked lovely, but... sorry to say, it was a tough one (the second most expensive), lots of tendons, very hard bits even the extra sharp steakknife could barely manage (good thing it came on a wooden cutting board). See the pictures for yourself, sorry but almost half of it was not edible and usually I am not picky! Well all in all, I had better. The chatting noise in my back all the time and the quality of the steak - I cannot recommend 😔
