The reception staff provided excellent service, were very helpful, and always had a cheerful smile. The hotel was cozy. Thanks a lot for Jeab, it was really cool to see her in the evenings when I got back to the hotel, and I really loved talking with her!

I stayed in family room with my friends, this hotel is best value and comfort for the money paid! It is conveniently close to metro, Chinatown. Room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, reception very polite and responsive. I totally recommend this place!

Wonderful hotel for any length of stay. Friendly and helpful staff. With a handy dining area with some nice easy meal selections. A short 4 minute walk to Bankok Hua Lamphong railway station makes this place a great choice. For all its good points and there are many the other bonus is the nightly rate makes this hotel a bargain compared to other nearby hotels.

@Hua Lamphong Hostel is good for its price and location. The hostel is right next to the MRT Hua Lamphong station, only a few meters away. This makes it very easy to travel and explore many popular areas, such as café hopping in Song Wat, street food in Yaowarat (Chinatown), historical and cultural sites in Phra Nakhon and the Grand Palace, or shopping in Silom and Lumpini. There is also a 7-Eleven convenience store within 300 meters, so food and drinks are easy to find at any time. The hostel has different types of rooms. There are dormitory rooms, which are cheaper but have less privacy, and private rooms with a private bathroom. I stayed in a Standard Double Room on the 5th floor, which seems to have only private rooms. The room is not big but comfortable for two people. If you have large suitcases, there may not be enough space to open them at the same time. The room has basic facilities, including a TV, air conditioner, hair dryer, kettle, tea and coffee set, small refrigerator, and two bottles of water. There is also a safe box but it did not work in my room, possibly because the battery was dead. The bathroom is a good size and comes with soap and shampoo. However, the sink is quite small and a bit difficult to use because of the shelf above it. Overall, this hostel is good value for money, especially because of its excellent location. You can easily travel around Bangkok by MRT, and there is a 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby, so you don’t have to worry about getting hungry late at night. I recommend this hostel if you are looking for an affordable place with a great location.

This is a bit of a personal review, but giving this place a bad score is the only thing I can do as a consumer that falls victim of corporate greed. I made a wrong estimation/booking at ended up staying for 9 nights, which I did not end up needing at all. Completely my fault, but I was hoping for some compassion from the hotel and see if we could at least partially cancel/refund some of the booking. This has happened to me before at a different hotel, which did not make a problem out of it and was willing to help me out. This hotel, however, seems to lack any human compassion. They refuse to think along whatsoever. Agoda was completely fine to cancel and said they can do it with the permission of the hotel, but the manager of Hua Lamphong hotel wasn't even willing to reduce it to 8 nights. This hotel is also completely sold out, so it's not that they don't have any customers or cannot resell my booking. Call me naive, but I'm actually quite surprised that there was no willingness whatsoever. I realize that on paper they are not doing anything wrong and they are protected by the 'rules', but to me it's still an example of unwillingness to help a customer and corporate greed. This review is not going to change anything, also since I can only post this after check out, but it's the only thing in my power that I can do. I hope karma will do it's work on the long term though :) (again me being naive most likely...). If you're doubting between accomodations and this story resonates with you, then just pick the other alternative you have. The reception staff were kind btw and even Agoda was helpful so no fault to them. *My response to the below comment from the hotel: "I realize that the source of this problem is my fault with the incorrect dates as well as the type of booking. It's just that this to me seemed to be a problem that we could resolve together. Also, I was okay with any adjustment of the booking which Agoda confirmed they understood and discussed with you. Both Agoda and hotel staff clearly confirmed that nothing could be adjusted about the booking, not even 1 night less. For the last 3 nights the room has stayed empty with no one really using it, which to me seems like na absolute waste, but that's just my perspective as a consumer (not as a hotel manager)."
