Katsushin Surawong

This is one of the legendary restaurants in the Silom area. If you’re a tonkatsu lover, this place is a must-visit at least once. The fried dishes here are done really well, with a wide variety to choose from — especially the tonkatsu, which is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and pairs perfectly with their house sauce. The atmosphere is very distinctive and genuinely feels like dining in Japan. The staff are friendly and efficient, which adds to the overall experience. While the prices per dish are on the higher side, the quality of both the food and the service more than justify it, making it very worthwhile.

This was my first visit to this long-standing tonkatsu restaurant in Thailand. I ordered the large-sized pork. The tender, juicy interior of the pork contrasted with the perfectly crunchy breadcrumb coating without any greasiness, which went beyond my expectations. A must-try for tonkatsu enthusiasts.
