Kab Kao Kab Pla is a must-visit for me whenever I’m in Bangkok. The restaurant is popular with locals and offers a wide selection of classic Thai dishes. I had the Tom Yum Goong, which was very flavorful — tangy, spicy, and comforting. The prawns aren’t the the freshest like in seafood restaurants, but the broth itself was excellent and really satisfying. The basil beef rice topped with a creamy egg was just as delicious. The egg was perfectly soft and added a rich texture that made the whole dish even better. This particular outlet isn’t the prettiest location I’ve visited from this chain, but it’s a very convenient spot to stop by after work for a good, reliable Thai meal.

Perfect lunch spot for those working in the area, however, I recommend to come around either 11:30 or after 1pm because the line can get quite long on somedays and that can take some time from your lunch break. The service is always good and the food comes out pretty fast which is convenient. Lots of vegetarian options as well for those who don’t eat meat.
