Great restaurant. One of the best thai seafood restaurants in central world. Highly recommend trying the pineapple fried rice and shrimp curry. And the crab is very good as well. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food is served fresh and delicious. Wide seating area and spacious.

Had dinner at Laem Charoen in Bangkok to compare their offerings and taste with their outlets in Kuala Lumpur. As expected, they have an extensive menu with many more great tasting seafood dishes and desserts. They also have set menus where you can select your combination of dishes, similar to KL. We opted for the 5 dish combo : 1. Deep Fried Seabass with signature Aromatic Fish Sauce 2. Stir Fried Kailan with Oyster Sauce 3. Papaya Salad with Raw Salmon 4. Fried Shrimps and Egg with Tamarind Sauce 5. Stir Fried Chilli Crab Meat and Shrimps with Creamy Omelette. The Signature Seabass had a crispy exterior, succulent and flavourful flesh, the hallmark of well-cooked seafood ! The aromatic fish sauce elevated the dish to a whole new level. The freshness of the salmon, crunchiness of the papaya slices, flavourful spicy sauce, crunchy peanuts made for a truly unforgettable tasty experience. The Fried prawns with egg and tamarind was a great combo. The prawns (not shrimps as they called it !) were of a decent size, fried to perfection with semi hard boiled and lightly fried eggs with tangy, slightly sweet tamarind sauce. The stir fried chilli crab meat and shrimp with creamy omelette is a mouth-watering combination. The richness of the crab and shrimp, the kick from the chilli and the creaminess of the omelette was a fantastic flavourful experience for the taste buds. For dessert, the Taro dumplings in coconut milk was simply perfect! The dining experience at Laem Charoen Seafood in Bangkok is definitely a step up from their outlets in KL ! A must try !

I came here a few times and during my latest visit for Christmas dinner with my friend (26th December 2025) there were two tourists that were sitting behind our table DRUNK. They broke plates, talked loudly and PUKE inside the restaurant!! It was truly disgusting experience, and I didn’t understand why the staff did not escort them out the first time they caused a scene, making them understand that this is a family restaurant, not a nightclub. I don’t want to have anyone puke near me when I’m eating. It was such a shame because I really enjoyed Laem Charoen’s dishes and I visited many of their branches around Bangkok. But the experience in this branch was not it.

The curry crab meat was good. Phad Thai is QQ. The tum yum soup is spicy beyond human consumption. I usually eat chilli padi so spicy food is no problem for me. This soup is way beyond spicy and we did not make any special request nor were we asked for spice level when we ordered. When we highlighted to the staff, they do not know what to do. They just stared blankly at us. In the end we asked for some water and was given a small bowl of water. Last photo shows the amount of chilli in the soup.
