Dinner at Le Du in Bangkok, I tried their 6 course tasting menu and everything was thoughtful, modern Thai cooking done right. The flavors were clean and balanced, and nothing felt overdone. What really won me over was the service. The assistant manager (Jeff) surprised me with a complimentary wine pairing and I even left with their original white tea as a New Year gift. This really became the highlight of my night. Le Du is a Michelin one star restaurant and part of Asia’s 50 Best for a reason. The price is on the higher end, but the experience made it worth every bit. Worth every penny I must say.

Lovingly presented food that shines with pride at highlighting local Thai ingredients (with quite a few from Changmai). Special compliments to the whole service team who made the dining experience relaxed and comfortable while enjoying food crafted meticulously and at a high quality. It felt like I was dining at a friend’s home! Please do yourself a favor and order the signature grilled river prawn - it will be worth it, I promise :)

Amazing food at Le Du! We partook in the four course tasting menu and found everything about the food to be unexpected and awesome. On top of that the service was incredibly attentive and considerate, as you would expect from a Michelin 1-Star, four years running. The only reason I am reviewing as a four star as opposed to five is I wanted more food! I left still a bit hungry which was a bummer. But an overall great experience.

We saw the reviews before heading to the restaurant. And we lowered our expectations. But sadly with an already lowered expectations, the food was still not great. Lots of misses and jus 1-2 hits. Maybe the head chef wasnt around? Or maybe the menu this season wasnt the greatest. But I’m definitely not coming back again. The amuse bouche was great! Love the kao soi inspirations. We initially thought the reviews we read were too harsh. As we were on to a great start. But it jus go mostly bad - dish after dish :( the worst dish we had was the roasted vegetable broth. It was extremely bitter, heavy and burnt. With random buts being throw into the soup. Bad combination of food, the taste profile was bad. Leaving us with a horrible after taste. The grouper was horrible as well. The ice cream and the last dessert that have a hint of creme brule was really nice too. The natural wine we had was nice. Between the 3 of us we spent 23,000 THB +. Honestly even at 1/3 of this price, I would not pay to eat for the meal we had. It really just wasnt it. Hopefully with a menu change it will be better. The service was great, everyone was professional and informative. Love the set up of the restaurant, with the inspiration about the season of rice paddy field.
