Wonderful service. Great location walking distance (7-8 min) to Lumpini park, Lumpini metro station and the new One Bangkok mall. Rooms are big, the pool is refreshing. The bar and restaurant is reasonably priced. I like this place and will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a place just to sleep, close to the queer night life and for an affordable place, this place is great. However, if you are looking for something fancier or to meet solo travelers like myself, this is not indeed the place. The pool does not have sun after 3/4pm and the water looks disgusting (not even sure if they have the system to keep the water running).

Negative Reviews
I booked this hotel mainly for the price and the pool. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t fully match my expectations. Several staff members had an attitude that made me feel unwelcome. I also realized that I paid more than the price listed on the same booking platform on the day of arrival, and my rate didn’t include breakfast. It is what it is, but it wasn’t a great start. The room may have been renovated, but it’s still not as fancy as you might hope. It has a slightly moody, older vibe. The bed is comfortable, which is a plus. The shower pressure, however, is not impressive at all — which was quite disappointing. There’s a small fridge provided, which is great, and the air conditioning works well. The lift is small and slow, so be prepared to wait during busy times. Housekeeping is fast and keeps the room clean, which I appreciate. Amenities are low quality — I’m glad I brought my own. That said, it’s very easy to buy anything you need in Bangkok anyway. There’s a TV in the room, but I didn’t even bother turning it on. The pool was one of the main reasons I chose this place. However, it doesn’t get as much sun as you might expect. That could be a positive or negative depending on your preference, but it definitely didn’t look as great as it does in the photos. As for location, it’s fairly close to a few useful spots. There’s a very busy 7-Eleven on the corner — even at midnight — which makes the area feel relatively safe. There are also a few coffee shops nearby, and it’s a reasonable walking distance to One Bangkok and Lumphini MRT station. This isn’t exactly the main tourist zone, which can be a good thing since it’s less hectic. Overall, I stayed for the value and facilities, but the service left me feeling uncomfortable. It’s functional for the price, but not somewhere I’d be excited to return to.

Malaysia Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Bangkok, located on Soi Ngam Duphli. Its main advantage is the location. The hotel is close to Lumphini MRT station and the business areas of Silom and Sathorn. It is also near Lumphini Park, one of the largest parks in Bangkok, as well as One Bangkok and Dusit Central Park, which are popular shopping malls. The hotel is more than 30 years old, but some rooms have been renovated. These rooms look fairly modern. The lobby still has a classic, old-style feeling. Most of the staff are senior and experienced. The service is reasonable for the price. I stayed in a renovated room, which felt clean and quite new. The hallway is a bit dark. The room is a good size and has all the basic facilities, such as a kettle, a desk, a TV, and a large fridge. The room lighting is bright enough for reading and working. The bathroom is small, and the bathtub makes it feel smaller. Guests must stand in the bathtub to take a shower, so elderly guests should be careful. The hotel restaurant is open 24 hours, which is very convenient. There is a 7-Eleven across the street, and many restaurants, bars, and massage shops nearby. The area is lively and easy to find food. Overall, Malaysia Hotel is good value for money. It has a convenient location in the city center, close to parks, shopping malls, business areas, and the MRT, making it easy to travel around Bangkok.

A strange little place playing by its own rules. To be honest the walk from Lumphini metro was hellish with cases as the busy roads had either no or too narrow pavements. Initial impression was that one guy in reception was friendly and helpful and the place was run down. Others in reception less friendly but our inclusive breakfast was mentioned and we got the impressive elevator to the top floor,” and along the oppressive corridor to our room at the end. The room was small and old but the bed and furniture clean. Bathroom also clean and good shower. We slept well. Air conditioning also good and easily fooled with a little weight to keep ac on without key fob while we went across the road for a meal. We went for breakfast which at best was meagre. We were then asked to pay. Then it kicked off. Humiliated in the restaurant and marched through to hotel reception where were first told breakfast was not included. By this time western guests had gathered to speak on behalf of the hotel with “ we’ve been coming for years and never had inclusive breakfast” I showed my email confirmation and they changed to a stance of you had to pick a voucher coupon from reception and take it (10 yards) to the restaurant. You did not do this so you have to pay. I was not told this I protested. “Let’s get one thing straight “I continued.”If I have to pay for breakfast I will not stay tonight and want my money back” She collapsed. We returned to our room. I cleaned the filthy window. Housekeeping seem nice though. I wonder what will happen tomorrow?
