Absolute Gem for a Proper Japaneserestaurant. Tucked away on the Intercontinental hotel Plaza, Nippon-tei is my go-to spot when I need a reliable, fantastic Japanese meal. This isn't trendy fusion; it's the real deal. I always get the Sashimi and Sushi set. The fish is fresh. It’s the complete, comforting experience. It’s not the cheapest dinner, but for the quality and the portion, you absolutely get what you pay for. The service is efficient and the place has a quiet, traditional vibe. Highly recommend for a great dinner, solo lunch or a business meal.

A true gem for authentic Japanese comfort food that’s been around for decades. Nippon Tei delivers the full suite: sashimi, sushi, curries, donburi, ramen, soba, tempura—all done with clear respect for tradition. The vibe is cozy and private, with impressively attentive staff. Solid selection of Japanese beers too, both classic and craft. Only slight letdown is the salads, but everything else more than makes up for it. Easy access via BTS, valet, or even a walk.

You can tell that this place is gonna be delicious since you step inside the restaurant. With our long history of food scenes in Bangkok, this restaurant is one out of 4 first Japanese restaurant that opened in the country. The ramen here is the best I had in Thailand so far, and the Yakiniku Don are very popular and juicy. Highly recommended if you fancy some real authentic Japanese food in BKK.
