We struck gold tonight while searching for somewhere to eat in Bangkok. The first two restaurants we looked at had menus that were a little underwhelming, but the third caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try. What a great decision! The menu displayed outside already looked promising, but once inside we were handed a large folder containing an even wider selection of dishes. There was an impressive variety of choices, and if you can’t find something you like here, you may simply not be a fan of Thai food! The prices are very reasonable, the portions are generous, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The food was full of flavour and felt like excellent value for money. The staff were another highlight. They were welcoming, knowledgeable and efficient. Despite the restaurant being very busy, our food started arriving within about 10 minutes. Throughout our visit, there was a steady stream of customers coming through the door, which certainly suggested that we weren’t the only ones who had discovered this place. Street food stalls are always a fantastic and inexpensive option in Bangkok, but if you’re in the Rama IV / Soi Sala Daeng Soi 1 area, many of the local stalls appear to closed down at night. If you’re looking for a good alternative, NorthEastern Restaurant is well worth considering. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty, reasonably priced Thai food in the area.

The Best Thai Restaurant in Bangkok – Exceptional Vegetarian Dishes, Fresh Sea Bass, and Great Prices! Northeast is hands down the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at in my entire life! If you are visiting Bangkok, this place is an absolute must-visit destination for anyone looking for authentic, mouth-watering local cuisine with amazing vegetarian options and fresh fish. Every single dish we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection and packed with rich, incredible flavors. The fresh Sea Bass (seabass) was cooked beautifully, tender, and seasoned to perfection. The vegetarian dishes, soups, and appetizers were fresh, aromatic, and full of traditional Thai spices and fresh ingredients. Even the drinks and side options were exceptionally well-prepared and served nicely. The portion sizes are generous, and considering the extremely high quality of the food, the prices are unbeatable and offer fantastic value for money. What made our dining experience even more special was the incredible team working here. The staff members are super friendly, attentive, polite, and welcoming. Despite how busy and popular the restaurant is, the service was fast, efficient, and delivered with a genuine smile from start to finish. I cannot recommend Northeast enough! Incredible vegetarian-friendly choices, fresh fish, superb value, and top-tier service. I will definitely be coming back here every single time I visit Bangkok! 10/10 highly recommended!

Disappointing Experience – Overrated in My Opinion I visited this restaurant on September 1, 2026, at around 5 PM, mainly because of the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was rather disappointing, and I personally found the restaurant to be overrated. I ordered the shell-free Pu Phat Pong Curry for 500 baht, but there was hardly any crab meat, which was disappointing. The Shrimp Pad Thai was also quite small in portion and lacked flavor. On the positive side, the Tangmo Ban (watermelon juice) was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Interestingly, about 90% of the customers during my visit appeared to be Korean. Of course, taste is subjective, but based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend making a special trip to this restaurant. If you're already in the area, it may be worth trying, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
