On The Square

We arrived and checked into our hotel late in the evening, around 2200, then walked around looking for a place for a light late dinner. We walked past Shenanigans across the street and it was way too loud. We were resigned to eat at the Burger King across the street when we saw the illuminated sign Chithole. Intrigued by the name we investigated. Food menu was focused and the drink offerings extensive. We were immediately seated and attended to. Our first server seemed a bit unsure of our order. A moment later another staff member came by to confirm our order. Bravo for wanting to get it correct! I had the chicken satay and tempura shrimp appetizers which were both great. My beer was ice cold. Prices were well within reason. During the course of our stay Grant, the personable owner came to check on us. We ended up inviting him to sit and chat. He had a great tale to share about a starting On the Square. It's a brilliant little spot which we recommend and hope to return next pitstop in BKK.

On The Square is an absolute gem in Bangkok. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are genuinely attentive, and the service is consistently excellent. The food is outstanding — every dish is full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re stopping in for a relaxed meal or a great night out, this place never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality, comfort, and top-class hospitality. Big Thanks to Grant the owner for looking after us.

The food is decent. Shame about the same house wine price has gone up from 1150++ few months ago to 1490++ They don’t sell by carafe anymore. Wine is expensive affair. No live music on 17th May Saturday.
