Opera Italian Restaurant

Opera is a hidden GEM in the Sukhumvit area of BKK! it was a beautiful surprise, literally two steps from our hotel, and we decided to go out of convenience and to break our streak of eating thai food for 2.5 weeks straight 🤩 Everything about this place is 5*! The vibe, the people, the food, I miss it as I type this. We started with the foccacia with pistachio, which reminded us of a recent Sicily trip 🇮🇹 followed by the parmigiana. My boyfriend and I always order parmigiana at Italian restaurants (our own little tradition), and this one was YUM: perfectly layered mozzarella, eggplant, basil, and just the right kiss of tomato. It hit the spot in every way. 🍆 For mains, we had the carbonara, customized with my favorite pasta ie Papardelle instead if the traditional Spaghetti (thank you to our amazing waiter for advocating with the chef, the flexibility and care were truly appreciated!). The result? Creamy, indulgent, and bold because it contains cream, which would normally be a scandal to Italians… but here? The outrage is forgiven. It was divine. We also ordered the lasagna, straight from the oven, piping hot, comforting, rich, and delicious. And the bread basket along the way deserves its own applause: a thoughtful variety of breads that were impossible to stop eating, even when we were already full. We could barely breathe by the end, but dessert is sacred in our house. We got the strawberry panna cotta and the tiramisu, both best sellers, were the perfect finale. Definitely worth saving room for. We did pack a lot of that though 😂 A special mention to Steven, our waiter, who made the whole experience unforgettable. Attentive, kind, charismatic, and incredibly accommodating : he made us feel so welcomed, and genuinely cared for. Service like this turns a great meal into a memory. You can tell this is a hotspot for Bangkok’s stylish crowd… the Thai “bourgeoisie” and influencers clearly love it, and using the place for their IG photoshoots. Honestly? It was be a bit annoying but we were tucked away in a corner being entertained 😆 One thing is the restaurant is cold so plan layers!!

The pace escaping the old money vibe is very spacious and like wooden decoration interiors. The food is OK compared to the prize is quite interesting and a lot of people come here to take pictures, celebrate birthdays, or romantic something every girl is all dressed up with cow or like nice dresses it’s definitely worth to visit once

Food was good, easy reservation but I went to the restaurant because wanna take a picture but the staff told us not to take with flash but understandable
