The Absolute Best Pad Kra Pao in Bangkok is here. Original Pad Kra Pao 1993 is a completely unique experience packed with incredible character and personality, delivering what is undeniably the best Kra Pao I have ever tasted in Bangkok. We ordered three different dishes to get a full sense of the menu, and every single one was phenomenal. We tried two variations of their classic Kra Pao topped with a perfectly cooked egg; one was served with the meat already mixed in, while the other was served separated. They offer complete control over the spice level, which is a fantastic touch, so we ordered one spicy and the other completely mild to balance it out. Both came with a delicious, comforting side broth that perfectly complemented the intense, rich flavors of the main dish. To round out the meal, we also ordered a portion of rice paired with a shrimp omelette, which was exceptionally good and flawlessly executed. The entire atmosphere of the restaurant adds so much to the meal, giving it a vibrant, authentic edge that you simply cannot find in more commercial spots. If you are hunting for the ultimate, unapologetic Pad Kra Pao experience in the city, this is exactly where you need to go.

Came across this place when we came out of BTS and wanted to find something to avoid the rain. The photos on Google did not do this place justice, it is retro themed and not at all old. Pad kaprao was offered in various styles with an option to adjust spiciness by number and was very fresh and delicious, including the various styles of fried eggs. Customers of all nationalities came to this shop in the 30 minutes we were inside and they must all know it’s a secret place. Highly recommended although it’s not in a usual tourist spot.

One of my favorite meals during my Bangkok trip! The restaurant is incredibly easy to get to, as it’s only about a 2–3 minute walk from Wongwian Yai BTS Station. The location couldn’t be more convenient, especially if you’re exploring the city by public transport. The place itself is small but full of charm. It has a cozy, authentic local atmosphere that makes the whole dining experience feel even more special. You can tell this is a place that’s loved by both locals and visitors. As for the food… absolutely outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the Pad Kra Pao is an absolute must-try (it’s their signature for a reason!). The clear Tom Yum soup was also surprisingly good—flavorful, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The only downside is that the dining area isn’t very big, so you might have to wait a little during peak lunch hours. I visited around lunchtime and had to queue for a short while, but thankfully the wait wasn’t long at all and it was definitely worth it. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would gladly come back on my next visit to Bangkok. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Thai food that’s both delicious and conveniently located.
