Ox & Embers - Steak Club & Cellar

Love the look of this place and the location at the end of Soi 20. Big parking lot which is a plus. Tons of space inside and it feels like it could be a great spot for groups. They didn’t have a band the night we went but apparently they do most nights. There’s also a nice private room available. Drink specials were solid and the appetizers were actually very good. The mains were a bit hit or miss. My steak wasn’t bad, but not great either and a little tough. My wife was not impressed with her lamb chops at all. My friend actually sent back his first steak but to be fair the restaurant handled it well. The manager was very apologetic and made him a new one. Overall, for the price, I just don’t think Ox & Embers is worth it unfortunately. The space and vibe are there, but the food didn’t quite justify the cost.

This was one of the most disappointing steak experiences I’ve had in years. The price of the beef was not cheap, yet nearly half of the steak was a solid chunk of fat that was simply inedible. The remaining portion was extremely lean and tough, with a dry, fibrous texture—honestly less enjoyable than the patty in a basic fast-food burger. When the staff asked how the food was, I mentioned the issue to them, but nothing followed—no explanation, no apology. The other dishes were average. They weren’t terrible, but they were far from impressive. I genuinely don’t understand why this restaurant has such a high rating on Google Maps. Perhaps it’s because, after the meal, staff approach customers with a sign and actively request a positive review?
