Palmier by Guillaume Galliot was a delightful surprise. The food was well-crafted, from the fresh French lobster to the perfectly cooked steak, and the Paris Brest dessert was truly memorable. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, with warm service throughout. Walking through the Four Seasons and its art displays before reaching the restaurant added a nice sense of arrival. A charming riverside spot worth recommending.

A Taste of Art at Palmier by Guillaume Galliot, Four Seasons Bangkok A riverside afternoon at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is already a treat on its own, but dining at Palmier by Guillaume Galliot takes it to another level. Hidden within the lush, art-inspired landscape of the hotel, Palmier feels like stepping into a serene Parisian garden by the river - elegant, airy, and effortlessly chic. The design and space are a blend of modern French sophistication and tropical charm - soft natural light, gentle tones, and that perfect view of the Chao Phraya glistening in the background. It’s intimate yet vibrant, refined but relaxed - a true joie de vivre moment in Bangkok. Now, let’s talk about the menu we had: 🥂 Roasted Frogs Legs - tender and flavorful, with a bright Parsley Emulsion and Spinach Coulis that gave it an elegant freshness. The Mushroom base tied everything together beautifully - a little taste of the French countryside. 🥩 Steak Frites - an absolute highlight. The Australian Wagyu Steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and paired with a classic Bearnaise Sauce. But the real star? The fries - crisp, golden, and seriously addictive. One of the best in town. 🐖 Slow-cooked Iberico Pork Rack - tender and rich, balanced by Mustard Sauce and a touch of Raspberry Vinegar. The herb salad with hazelnut oil and lentil ragout gave it a beautiful contrast - earthy, nutty, and bright. Dining at Palmier feels like a beautiful escape - where every dish tells a story and every detail in the design whispers luxury. It’s one of those places where you don’t just eat - you feel.

The restaurant itself is pleasant, but the manager, Kevin, was shockingly rude and disrespectful. That alone is enough to overshadow everything else. On February 14th, of all days, we ordered two glasses of sparkling wine, which were poured at noticeably different levels: one significantly fuller than the other. In a restaurant of this level, such basic inconsistency should not even occur. When we politely pointed out this small mistake as he was passing by our table, he responded, “So what? You should be happy that one of you got more,” and then simply walked away. We have been coming here regularly for several years, and the previous manager consistently demonstrated professionalism and courtesy, which is why we kept returning. This experience felt entirely out of place and deeply disappointing.

I ordered the mussels, which unfortunately had a strong smell and did not seem fresh. I politely informed the staff, who then spoke to the manager. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the manager said that I “did not understand French taste,” a comment that felt dismissive and disrespectful toward Thai customers. This was clearly a matter of food quality, not personal preference. The people dining with me also noticed the unpleasant smell. The manager then asked why I returned if the service was not good. I had visited two weeks earlier and genuinely hoped for a better experience. Unfortunately, the same server from my previous visit served us again and appeared unhappy throughout the entire meal. Most concerning of all, the manager eventually called security to deal with a customer who was simply giving feedback. Is this really the level of service expected from a 5-star hotel?

I came to dine at this restaurant with high expectations, as I had previously visited another restaurant in this hotel and was impressed. However, it didn’t turn out as I had hoped. The taste and presentation of the food were quite ordinary, and the prices were rather high. Personally, I don’t think it was worth the cost. That said, the atmosphere was nice, especially since I sat at a front table with a view of the river.
