About
Prim is an established Thai restaurant hidden on a Soi near Ekkamai, offering traditional dining in an intimate setting. The 66-year-old institution feels authentically Thai, creating a quiet sanctuary away from the neighborhood bustle.
Service is attentively quick despite the low-key setting, and dishes like fish prepared on the pan showcase careful cooking technique. Large portions, reasonable pricing, and the private, peaceful environment appeal to those seeking genuine Thai food without pretense.
Prim sits hidden on Ekkamai Soi 2, a Thai restaurant that turned 66 this year and carries the confidence of a place that stopped needing to prove itself decades ago. The room is architecture you notice—a traditional Thai pavilion with air-con, double-height beams, and a pierced-timber gallery that frames the experience. The pace of service is assured: food arrives quickly even when the kitchen warns that fish will need twenty minutes.

Prim is an old address hiding in plain sight off Ekkamai Soi 2. I’m told it’s 66 years old as of January 2026, and it feels like the sort of place that has stopped needing to prove anything. The room is a Thai sitting pavilion with air-con - double-height beams, a pierced-timber gallery - but the table is what keeps you there. Wing-bean salad arrives crisp and ridged, held together by a coconut-milk dressing that smooths heat and lime into something you can keep eating. Baked rice with minced pork and Chinese black olives goes dark and briny, then wakes up with cashews, chilli and a hard squeeze of lime. Fried prawn cakes are pure texture: crackle, bounce, plum sauce. The Thai-Chinese comfort lane stays open with fish maw soup and stir-fried crab with curry powder, and when you want a bigger swing, river prawns turn up in a garlic-heavy tamarind glaze with the best richness still hiding in the head.

Nice little restaurant hidden on a Soi near hotel. It was quite empty, except our table only one more person came for dinner. But the service is nice and portions really large. If you want to try good Thai food at a reasonable price - that's your place

Negative Reviews
The setting is nice & traditional. Service was good as we were the only table occupied inside on a Wednesday evening. But the food, is really lacking in taste. So sorry to give a truthful review.
