We had to wait for 10 mins outside, and totally worth it. Nice seafood, I recommend the grilled prawns, grilled whole squid and stir fried squid with egg york! They also have quite a selection of raw seafood but we are not big fan for those.

This is the first restaurant I’ve visited when I arrived in Bangkok and I was not disappointed. We took a shrimp Tom yum and a marinated salmon salad. The flavors were strong and fragrant, the plates looked beautiful and the portions were generous! But what surprised me the most was how big and tasty the shrimp were, this was the highlight of the meal ! The staff was also very welcoming even though communication was a bit complicated at first and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very fitting to the place! I will probably come back again if I have the opportunity to visit Bangkok another time!

I finally tried the famous Puponfai and Zapponfai. We went quite late in the evening, so the queue wasn't long. The restaurant is open daily for dine-in from 11am to 11pm, so a later visit is a good way to avoid the crowds. We had already been eating our way down the street, so we only had room for the signature grilled giant river prawn and a couple of drinks. It didn't disappoint. The prawn was split and grilled over charcoal, with a lightly smoky shell. The meat was sweet, firm and juicy, and the head was packed with rich, golden roe that had been grilled until slightly caramelised. It's the best part, so make sure you scoop it all out. The giant river prawn is priced by size. It's great value. The same giant river prawn would easily cost double elsewhere. Note that sizes can sell out, and the small was out of stock when we visited. We paired it with a cold Singha and a Devanom Mrs. Lychee, a local lychee blossom honey mead from Nonthaburi. It's light, fragrant and refreshing, and well worth trying if you see it. The place is bright, clean and casual, with stainless steel tables and air-conditioning. There was no space left in our stomachs for the rest of the menu, including the tom yum noodles, but we'll definitely be back.
