I've been to Red Rose Restaurant several times. 1. CNY 2025 2. December 2025 3. 7 Feb 2026. From food to cocktails, nothing was a failure. The band played good music like Frank Sinatra song. The staff were all friendly and could speak English.

Red Rose in Chinatown Bangkok is easily one of the most visually stunning bars in the area. The moment you step inside, you are immersed in a beautiful blend of vintage Shanghai glamour and modern chic. Rich red tones, elegant lanterns and intricate Asian-inspired patterns create a luxurious old-world charm while stylish contemporary touches make the space feel upscale and incredibly photogenic. Warm, soft lighting ties everything together, giving the bar a cozy yet refined atmosphere. We enjoyed a few beers while taking in the ambiance and the night was made even better by two fantastic live bands performing on stage. Their music energized the whole room and added a lively, vibrant spirit to an already captivating setting.

Negative Reviews
I decided to dine at this restaurant due to decor and ambience but service and quality of food was below standard. The Sour Seafood Soup Szechuan was good and spicy but it barely had seafood in it and quantity was low which is disappointing when you charge 430 THB. In the Hok-Kien Noodle, I clearly told the server not to include pork which clearly wasn't communicated I guess. I brought this up with another server who then arranged a new dish replacing it with chicken. The fruit punch mocktail was good but 360 THB is way high. The service was also very slow. The lady at the counter was within viewing distance but for some reason didn't want to see me raising my hand and too forever. Also I didn't feel the staff cared about me as customer.

Disappointment is an understatement. I’m genuinely baffled as to how this establishment receives 5 star reviews. We arrived under the clear impression that Red Rose was a jazz bar offering refined Asian dining. What we encountered was neither. The live band played American pop covers rather than anything resembling jazz. Credit where it’s due: the decor is thoughtfully done. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. We ordered a lychee martini and a Christmas special cocktail. The martini arrived poorly mixed, oily, and littered with small chunks of ice (as in photo). The Christmas cocktail was aggressively sweet. Hoping the food might redeem the experience, we ordered starters. It did the opposite. I’ve rarely wanted to leave a venue faster. The “scallop” dish was rubbery and unpleasant, upon questioning, we were told it consisted of mashed scallop pieces rather than a whole scallop, something that should have been disclosed upfront. The vegetable patty it sat on was greasy and cold in the centre. We hadn’t even ordered mains yet, largely because the only server on the floor was stationed at the far end of the room, on his phone. After persistent back-and-forth, we managed to have one cocktail and the scallop dish removed from the bill. Even so, one cocktail, one shrimp entrée, and a fried vegetable platter, all tasting suspiciously like frozen products came to $57 AUD. I will not be returning. I hope this review prompts some serious reflection and much-needed change, because in its current state, this establishment does not come close to justifying its reputation or price.
