Steak Lao

Nice spacious restaurant, great food and well priced. Lean to the spicy side with local dishes unless requested otherwise. We visited twice in the week we were in the area.

I've been coming to Steak Lao in Bang Na area for the past decade and some of my favorite dishes are the spicy curry crab meat and the spicy crab eggs dipping sauce; both delicious. We also tried the Luang Prabong papaya salad, but it didn't meet our expectation. It was too sour and the papaya wasn't crispy enough. We've had Luang Prabong papaya salad in Luang Prabong, so it was a high expectation. The service was also not up to par during our last visit. We had a group of 11 people and had to grab the staff attention on multiple occasions to get rice, water, and desserts. We tried the pandan lote chong dessert. It was refreshing, fragrance and not too sweet. Just perfect to wash the pallets. Although the service was inattentive, but we'll definitely be back for the food.

8/10 - Delicious Five Spice Pork Belly Stew with Eggs. Sweet tastes good with steamed rice. 7/10 - Good price for Thai food. 7/10 - Small restaurant but ok.
