The Deck by Arun Residence

We had a lovely afternoon at The Deck Restaurant in Thailand, especially thanks to Fon. She provided excellent service, patiently recommended delicious food, and helped arrange a nice seat with a beautiful view for photos. She also kindly assisted us in celebrating my friend’s birthday, making the afternoon even more special and memorable. Fon’s friendliness and attentiveness truly made our visit enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We made a reservation for four people at 6:00 PM to coincide with sunset. After arrival, we were guided up a long staircase to the 4th floor, where our table was located. For guests with concerns about stairs or mobility, it’s better to request a lower-floor table when booking—lower levels still offer a beautiful sunset view. The weather was perfect that evening, allowing us to bring in a well-chilled bottle of wine and toast while watching the sunset. Our guests from Japan were extremely satisfied. The corkage fee is 700 THB as of 2026. The menu covers standard Thai dishes, but the true highlight of this restaurant is undoubtedly the spectacular, front-facing view of Wat Arun glowing in the sunset. The downside is that, due to its prime location at one of Bangkok’s most famous tourist spots, the restaurant can be very noisy. There were several groups with poor manners, making it almost impossible to enjoy a quiet meal. Our recommendation: arrive before sunset, enjoy a toast while watching the sky change colors, relax with wine and light bites as the sun sets, and once it gets dark, move on to another, calmer restaurant for a more peaceful dinner.

I had a wonderful and memorable dining experience at The Deck. I took my partner there to celebrate his birthday, and we were seated on the third floor at a window-side table with a breathtaking view of Wat Arun. The staff were friendly and attentive, The food was delicious and well worth the price. I mentioned to the staff that it was my partner’s birthday, and the restaurant kindly surprised us with a cake and even sang “Happy Birthday.” My partner and I were truly impressed, and we will definitely come back again.
