The Standard Grill

We were here at Valentine’s Day. The portions were super duper small in the Valentine’s set. It’s like 1 portion of a meal for a couple. And this menu costs 5000 THB!! Fish as a main course was disgusting. Beef was good, but as I told before- it’s super small portion. Maybe 100gr beef share for 2 people. Add one more star just because waiter were very attentive and bring complimentary coffee, because we said that fish was not good. I understand, when dessert and appetizers small portions, but when the main course 100gr share for 2 people - it’s ridiculous. Came back home hungry, paid 6143 THB. Disappointed.

We came here on NYE and they were only offering a course dinner for 5000 baht pp. ok now while the amount of food was substantial, and was visually appetising, the execution of the menu missed a few things. The truffle arancini was nice as was the substituted prawn cocktail instead of oysters. Next was the grilled asparagus on a hollandaise like sauce which was rich but not too bad. Next he pasta was heavy, too salty for my liking anyway and the uni was definitely not as good as we get in Japan, also then the next course came out while we hadn’t even half finished the pasta ( not like I wanted to eat it all anyway). The steak, hmmm, I believe simplicity is best for steak nicely charred medium rare little sauce and garnish, unfortunately I couldn’t really taste the steak, I actually told my partner the cow died for nothing lol. Dessert was an overly sweet bombe Alaska which was lit by a cigarette lighter lol ( please do yourself a favour and purchase something a little more in tune with the restaurants style) but ok. Including one juice one beer, 2 coffees and a bottle of sparkling water it came to 14000 baht. I don’t really mind paying that much money if I came out raving about the menu but in my opinion the portions were actually too big and too rich (too much cream and egg yolks), too salty. So looking through the reviews I see a lot of mixed reviews. If you’re going to spend that kind of money hopefully you won’t be as disappointed we feel. We would’ve been better eating somewhere different. Live and learn.
