About

About Ubon Chaew Horn

Ubon Chaew Horn is a northeastern Thai restaurant at 51 Rama 6 Soi 28, in the Victory Monument area. Hotpot is the main dish, served with grilled meats, somtum, and crispy catfish flakes. The tables sit under a highway, which gives shade and shelter from rain. Reviewers say service is organised and food arrives quickly even when it is full.

It has a 4.3 Google rating from about 780 reviews (November 2026).

The restaurant is open every day from 11:00 to 23:00. Hotpot sets are sized for sharing, so go with a group. If you do not know Isaan dishes, ask staff or a Thai friend to help you order. Victory Monument BTS is nearby, but check the route first.

Amazing local beef hotpot and grills. My favourite was grilled veal heart and the spicy raw tartare beef.

My local colleague brought me to this Isaan (Northeastern Thai) place and ordered a whole bunch of stuff. Food was great, except I didn’t know what the dishes were! The two dishes in the middle of my photo that looked like some kind of minced meat were my favorite. The one on the left beside the raw beef with egg was apparently chopped raw beef. The som tum (papaya salad) was good, though I personally prefer the regular instead of Isaan style, as this is spicier and less sweet. This is a very local place with almost no foreigners. It’s also primarily outdoor seating, so be prepared to sweat it out with the spicy food!

Local northeastern-style hotpot restaurant. Every dish we ordered was delicious, except for the grilled beef steak, which was very tough and difficult to chew. Their deep-fried dishes were spectacular. Although the restaurant was full, we did not have to wait long for the food to arrive. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas (you have to pay extra for indoor seating). Our biggest challenge was finding a parking space—it was very difficult! There was a small paid parking lot on the opposite side of the restaurant, but it had very limited spaces. Luckily, my friend was driving; otherwise, we might have given up and gone to another restaurant.
