Service was fantastic although the food was disappointing. The service staff made us feel warm and welcome. They kindly provided a complimentary tiramisu for my birthday which earned them a 4 rather than three star. The caprese salad was quite poor. The tomatoes were hard and bland. The cheese was hard, bitter and far from fresh. They had no bread on offer when we sat down, which is tradition for authentic Italian restaurants. The poor bread pairing with meatballs and bruschetta might explain why. Pasta was slightly undercooked. It was a good experience overall, but perhaps not worth visiting again if I wanted tasty, authentic Italian food.

Had a fantastic experience at Ugo Italian Restaurant in Chinatown, Bangkok. As a New Yorker, I don’t throw compliments around lightly when it comes to pizza — and this one was cooked perfectly. The crust had that ideal balance: crisp on the outside, light and airy inside, with just the right char. You can tell they know what they’re doing. The mushroom soup? Absolutely fire. Rich, flavorful, and comforting — one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Service was amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. They also offer an excellent wine selection with bottles from around the world, plus a couple of strong cocktail options that pair perfectly with the food. The brick-style interior gives it a cozy, authentic feel, and they had a nice solo guitarist playing, which made the atmosphere even better. Comfortable spot, great vibe, outstanding food. I will definitely be back. 🍕🍷
