Had such a delicious dinner in this very cool and high quality restaurant. Now amongst my favourite restaurants in Bangkok. Located on the upper floor with 2 large dining counters the set up is clean, neat, beautiful interior decoration. Rap music is playing while you dine which is unusual yet very cool. I also like the servers uniforms. All our dishes were well prepared, served fast and delicious. The desserts were very yummy as not very sweet which was great. Very friendly and efficient service. Excellent value for money. We will return.

Yankii Bar is a lively Japanese-style bar and izakaya with a very playful concept. I booked a dining table one day in advance without any issues and came for dinner around 7:30 PM. The first floor is a bar with karaoke, while the second floor is the main dining area. Upstairs, the space is divided into two sections, each with bar seating and several small tables. We were greeted very warmly in a classic Japanese style. At first, we were seated at the bar, but there was a noticeable kitchen smell, so we asked to move to a table. The staff changed our seats without any problem. One of the main highlights of Yankii Bar is their interactive game concept. The bar is divided into two sides, red and blue. Anyone who wants to become the “King” can ring a bell and order a shot for everyone sitting on their side. Each shot costs 90 THB, and the person who rings the bell pays for all of them. The “King” gets a headband and some attention. The shot itself is light and sweet, made with alcohol, yuzu syrup, lime, and simple syrup. It tastes more like grapefruit juice than a strong drink. Food presentation is very theatrical. Dishes are served on clay scoops and trays, accompanied by loud Japanese chants. The menu is quite diverse, although there is not much sashimi or sushi. There are rolls, some special handmade rolls, and many small sharing dishes. Portions are generally small, more like tapas style. I especially liked the mushroom dish served in a shell with red caviar on top. The grilled eggplant starter was also good and worth ordering. Meat skewers and other dishes come in small portions, so it’s better to order several items. The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and a bit chaotic in a good way. People actively participate in the game, drink, and cheer, which creates a very lively vibe. Bar seating seems to be limited to about 1.5 hours, with guests rotating, but our table did not have a strict time limit. Service was friendly but a bit slow due to how busy the place was. At one point, my warm sake order was forgotten, and I had to remind the staff. They apologized sincerely and brought complimentary dessert and ice cream, which I appreciated and did not lower the rating for this. Our total bill, including sake, was around 5,000 THB for two people. Considering we ate well, drank, and spent time both upstairs and downstairs at the karaoke bar, I find the price reasonable. Overall, Yankii Bar is a great place for a fun night out if you are looking for energy, interaction, and a unique Japanese bar experience rather than a quiet dinner.
