Buying garments, uniforms and oem apparel from Thailand
Thailand has a long-established clothing industry. Garment, uniform and sportswear factories are in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom and Pathum Thani, and many of them sew for foreign brands.
In 2025 Thailand exported USD 6,378.10 million of apparel and textile materials (Bank of Thailand, table EC_XT_009, annual 2025).
What buyers usually ask a supplier:
- whether they cut and sew in their own factory or send the work to another factory
- the minimum order per style and per colour
- the time for a sample and the lead time for production
- which fabrics they can source, and certificates for fabric or for working conditions, with a copy of each
