I had the opportunity to learn Thai music for about an hour with Teacher Bas. I was impressed by his patience and dedication in teaching me how to play the fiddle well. I also got to see a performance of Thai classical music and a graceful and beautiful Sriwijaya dance. It's a great way to preserve ancestral knowledge at a very affordable price. I truly admire him.

Duriya Praneet Foundation is a historic music institution in Thailand known for producing many famous artists. Also known as Baan Bang Lamphu, the institution was founded by Khru Sook Duriya-Praneet, a former musician in the theatrical troupe of Chao Phraya Thewet-wongwiwat (Prince Lan Kunchon) the Department of Khon. Khru Sook later established his own Thai music ensemble under the name "Duriya Praneet", taking on the surname bestowed upon him by King Chulalongkorn. Together with his wife, Tham Duriya Praneet, they passed on their musical knowledge to their descendants, all of whom have become experts in the field. Today, Duriya Praneet Foundation is under the care of Chayantee Duriya-Praneet Anuntakul, also known as "Kru Noi", the third generation heir and only child of Khru Sook Duriya Praneet, a National Artist in the performing arts (The art of singing Thai songs).
